The uninhabited islands were originally discovered by Portugal in the fourteenth century and eventually occupied by the Spanish in 1784 to store the King’s fruit and nuts. The British fleet took the islands by force in 1798 and renamed them Snape Isles. In 1941 they were placed under control of Harry “Hooton” Roberts, Supreme Commander of the USBF, classified as uninhabitable and removed from maps. The United States allowed the isles to be self-governing, and continued to assert ownership whilst simultaneously denying their existence. Sinsister conspiracy theories run deep, but the most plausible explanation is simply that the islands were used in some form of secret experiment by military scientists.
