Grøtsock, Tallin, 1973.
They/them
Grøtsock’s rise to pre-eminence began with Norwegian sousaphone trio Clavicle, their music featuring prominently in the score to a popular violent death-crime television series.
A qualified architect, Grotsock apprenticed at Bergen-based inter-disciplinary practise Mudworks, known for emphasis on social housing designed to be shared with nature. After taking a hiatus to raise children, Grotsock opted for a music career rather than return to the drawing board.
Grotsock entered the 1972 Scandihit music event with the self-penned ‘Dødspust’, taking second place to Sweden’s Skillingtryck, yet resulting in far greater popularity across the Baltic and beyond.
